Layer 3

Layer 3 development

I continued developing the final layer of the map, which featured a sci-fi-themed laboratory and a UFO hangar, aiming to push the environment toward a more futuristic, visually striking direction. The lab area was designed with sterile, high-tech aesthetics in mind, incorporating glowing panels, holographic interfaces, and experimental containment units to reinforce the sense of advanced research and secrecy. Adjacent to this, the UFO hangar served as the level's central focal point, featuring massive retractable doors, suspended lighting rigs, and alien spacecraft at various stages of inspection and repair. Together, these spaces were intended not only to deepen the map's narrative but also to enhance the overall visual experience, creating a contrast between industrial science-fiction elements and mysterious extraterrestrial technology that encourages exploration and immersion.

Colors and textures

Creating a visually appealing game relies on a combination of strong environmental design principles that work together to maintain immersion and player interest. One of the most important aspects is a consistent art style, where colors, textures, and lighting are carefully coordinated to establish a unified visual identity. Lighting, in particular, plays a key role, guiding the player’s attention, enhancing mood, and adding depth to the environment through contrast and shadow.  I wanted to capture every detail of this design with colorful, popping textures. This allowed for a more effective visual aspect to the game as well. Effective use of detail and composition is also essential; foreground, midground, and background elements should be layered thoughtfully to create a sense of scale and realism without overwhelming the player.
